Four Hawks Selected to Region XX All-Star Game
Hagerstown, Md. - The Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team recently had four players selected to participate in the Region XX All-Star game. The annual match pits MDJUCO Division I All-Stars against Division III All-Stars.
Sophomores Mamadou Jallow (Gambia, Africa/Thomas Johnson), Chucky Kipe (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), Genc Sopa (Kosovo, Europe/Lipian), and Chip Rittenhouse (Hagerstown, Md./South) will represent Hagerstown on the Division I All-Star squad.
Jallow, the team leader in assists (6) was second on the team in points (20) and goals (7) this season. Kipe, finished first in MDJUCO and second in the nation in saves (164) and save percentage (.875), while also posting a team high three shutouts. Sopa, the MDJUCO leader in goals (14) and points (31) also had three assists on the year. Rittenhouse, a mainstay in defense for the Hawks, started in 18 of 19 matches and tallied his first collegiate goal this season.
The All-Star game is slated for Friday, November 2 at 6:00pm on the campus of Anne Arundel Community College.
