Five HCC Players Named to Region XX All-Star Game
Hagerstown, Md.- The Hagerstown Community College men’s soccer placed five players on the annual Region XX All-Star game to be played at Frederick Community College on November 9 at 12:00pm.
The Hawks will combine with the other Division I players from Harford, College of Southern Maryland, CCBC-Essex, Catonsville, Frederick, Chesapeake and Cecil. The Division III All-Stars will be comprised of players from Montgomery-Rockville, Howard, Prince George's, Allegany, and Anne Arundel.
Represnting HCC are sophomores:
Adam Carrier (Cumberland, Md./Calvary Christian Academy) transfered from Allegany Community College this year. He started in 18 of 20 games last season, making 144 saves and recording four shut outs. He finished ranked fourth in MDJUCO for save percentage and eighth in the nation in saves.
Ralph Weaver (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) transferred from Shepherd College this year. He only competed in eight games, making three starts to due an early season knee injury. He recorded a goal against Chesapeake Community College.
Bobby Matusek (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), a two-year starter for the Hawks played in 18 games, making 16 starts. He finished the season with four goals for eight points. He netted two goals in a win over cross-county rival Frederick Community College.
Aaron Rodgers (Funkstown, Md./South), a mainstay defender for the past two seasons, played in all 20 games, making 19 starts. He netted his first collegiate goal off a corner kick against Delaware Tech.
Matt Suddith (Hagerstown, Md./South), competed in 18 games, making 14 starts this season. He tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points. He was one eight Hawks to record 10+ points.
Past Hagerstown Community College All-Stars include, Mamadou Jallow, Chucky Kipe, Genc Sopa, Chip Rittenhouse, Mark Vomend, Daniel Lennox, Zack Morgan, Sean Koontz, Garrett Hajjar, Edwin Reyes, Brian Kukucka, Michael Reyes, Cody Butts, Steve Kopp, Francesco Scotto DiCarlo, Joe Dumpe, Kris Potter, Josh Edwards, Alex Manea, Chris Lambert, Harold Little, Phil Jordan, Mark Connelly, and Tyler McKenrick.
