Urbana High School Senior Josh Fahlfeder Commits to Hagerstown Community College

Hagerstown, Md. -  Urbana High School senior, Josh Fahlfeder, recently committed to continue his education and playing career at Hagerstown Community College.

Fahlfeder was a two-year starter on the varsity squad at Urbana High School. He helped his team to back-to-back 4A state final appearances in 2009 and 2010. This past season he co-anchored the defense from his center back position, helping the Hawks post nine shutouts, while only surrendering 12 goals. During the 2009 season, Fahlfeder played alongside current HCC players Garrett Hajjar and Daniel Lennox, finishing the season 12-7-0. During his career at Urbana, Josh was extremely versatile, playing right back, striker, left outside midfield, center midfield, and most recently center back. He finished with six goals and 13 assists.

Josh is also entering his fourth season as a member of the Damascus Soccer Club. He has rotated between center back, striker, and center midfield. During his second year with the squad, he led the team in assists with 12.

“We are extremely pleased to announce Josh as our first recruit signing for the 2011 season” head coach Brian Eichelberger stated. “Josh is a versatile player who can help fill the void left in our midfield due to our graduating players. Over the years he has shown he can compete against tough competition, so we see him transitioning to the college game very easily. Having already played with Garrett and Daniel at Urbana will also help make his transition smooth.”
