West Virginia Senior to play at Hagerstown C.C.
Hagerstown, Md. - Martinsburg High School senior, Josh Fitzwater, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men’s soccer team.
Fitzwater, an outside midifielder and striker, helped the Bulldogs to an 8-7-4 overall record his senior year. Martinsburg would see their season come to an end against State Runner-Up, Washington High School. After falling behind two goals, the Bulldogs would mount a comeback and tie the game 2-2 before surrendering a goal in the final minutes of double overtime.
Fitzwater, scored four goals and added an assists in 2015 and in 2014 he netted three goals and an assist. He finished his varsity career with 16 points.
While at HCC, Fitzwater will pair up with high school teammate, Ricardo Merino. The duo, joins Maryland-Baltimore County recruits Jaime Quansah and Benny Brankoff. The Hawks have also received commitments from Montgomery County players, Azaria Honsou and Angel Osegueda, along with Frederick residents Javier Posadas and Fredy Barerra. Andrew Owens, from Washington County rounds out the 2016 class.
"Josh possess speed that will be very useful at the collegiate level" quoted head coach Brandon Rethemeyer. "We look forward to seeing what Josh can do at either forward or on the wing."
