Magruder High School Senior Commits to Hagerstown
Hagerstown, Md.- Magruder High School senior, Jermaine Hardy, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team.
Hardy, a two-yer varsity starter for the Colonels played attacking center midfield, outside midfield, and forward. During his junior season, he was honored by the Gazette for scoring in three consecutive playoff games. He helped lead Magruder to the 4A West Regional Finals. In 2014, he won a medal for Best Midfielder in High School Season and Senior Soccer Award.
Along with Magruder, Hardy also played club for Champions Soccer Academy and MSC Eagles. For CSA, his team was Mt. Road Soccer Tournament Champions, as well as Columbia Invitational and Capital Cup Finalists. As a member of MSC, his U17 and U19 teams were Division I Champions, as well as Prince William Ice Breaker Tournament Champions.
He finished his club and high school career with 34 goals and seven assists for 75 points.
While at HCC, Hardy will join eight other Montgomery County recruits. Alejandro Oliart, Diego Claros, Eric Madrid, Geordy Nyam, Ernesto Mejia, Christian Garcia and Thomas Alvarez all come from his area. Other recruits include Hashir Khan from Virginia and Jose Ramirez from Frederick. Washington County recruits, Tim Horning, Nathan Redmond, Adam Dwyer, Devin Schofield, Alex Udy, Ryan Byard, and Logan Speak round out the signing class.
"Jermaine is a very creative and hard working center midfielder," mentioned head coach Brian Eichelberger. "We have a lot of attacking variety this year and they will complement each other. Jermaine brings a certain flair we can rely on in the final third."
