Matusek Propels HCC to 3-0 Victory
Hagerstown Md. - Freshman BobbyMatusek (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora)netted two goals to lead the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over non-conference opponent Lord Fairfax.
Matusek put the Hawks on the board just four minutes into the game, when he re-directed a shot from sophomore Mamadou Jallow (Gambia, Africa/Thomas Johnson) and placed it past it past the Cannon keeper.
The score would hold at just 1-0 going into half, with HCC controlling much of the play though. In the 55th minute, freshman Bradley Coblentz (Frederick, Md./Middletown) would tally his first collegiate goal when he put away a chance from Jallow. Coblentz would receive a rebound and curl the ball around the keeper and into the far bottom corner of the goal.
Matusek would round out the scoring for HCC, when he lobbed a shot in over the keeper after taking a pass from freshman Osman Ramizov (Hagerstown, Md./North).
Sophomore Chucky Kipe (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) played 60 minutes in net for Hagerstown and recorded four saves before giving way to classmate Brandon Wingfield (Hagerstown, Md./South) who would play the next 20 minutes and tally just one save. Sophomore Fredy Velasquez (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) finished the last ten minutes in goal and recorded two saves and preserved the shut out for the Hawks.
