Mark Keating Chooses Hagerstown Community College
Hagerstown, Md.- Urbana High School graduate, Mark Keating, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team.
Keating, an Honorable Mention Frederick News Post All-Area recipient his senior year started right back his senior season.
Keating would help the Urbana Hawks win the Frederick County Boys Soccer Championship and the MVAL Piedmont Conference Championship. The team would also finish the season undefeated (20-0-0), winning the 3A West Region and the 3A State Championship.
While starting in the back for the Hawks he was part of a defense that only conceded 10 goals in 20 games. Urbana would finish the season ranked 15th in the Nation and 6th in the NSCAA, Region IV.
Keating also played for FC Frederick and DSC Alliance.
He joins recently committed Frederick County recruits Za Ceu, Axel Lara and Jacob Bickley. Montgomery County recruits Christian Mejia, Nery Feuntes, and Xavier Matthews join Washington County players Bradley Mills, Jacob Ernst, Zach Robertson, Hart Weaver, and Collin McVicker as committed HCC Hawks for the 2014 season. Shad Gordon from Southern Fulton in Pennsylvania also will play for Hagerstown.
"Mark is an accomplished outside back and we cannot wait to insert him into our lineup", stated head coach Brian Eichelberger. "Solidifying our defense was our number one goal in the off season and by adding Mark, we feel we have an excellent chance to field one of the best defenses in the MDJUCO."
