Watkins Mill Leading Scorer Chooses Hagerstown C.C.
Hagerstown, Md.- Watkins Mill High School Senior, Geordy Nyam, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men’s soccer team.
Nyam, a Cameroon native, led Watkins Mill High School in scoring and helped the Wolverines to a 9-4-1 overall record in 2014. His team would see their season come to an end at the hands of defending State Champions Urbana High School. The Hawks would earn a 1-0 victory in the 3A West Region Finals.
In Nyam's two-years on varsity with Watkins Mill he netted 13 goals and added 21 assists for 47 points.
Nyam joins Montgomery County committed recruits, Ernesto Mejia. Diego Claros and Alejandro Oliart, as well as Washington County recruits Tim Horning and Ryan Byard. Frederick County player, Jose Ramirez, currently rounds out the 2015 class.
"Geordy is a force up front and he proved that in his time with Watkins Mill" mentioned head coach Brian Eichelberger. "After graduating our two-year leading goal scorer we needed talent to come in and take over those responsibilities. With the committed strikers we have and by adding Geordy, we feel we can throw any combination up top to compete for MDJUCO success. Geordy has a physical presence that will garner attention in this league right away."
