Clear Spring Senior, Zach Robertson, Commits to HCC

Hagerstown, Md.-  Clear Spring High School senior, Zach Robertson, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team.

Robertson, a four-year varsity member for the Clear Spring Blazers, helped anchor the defense in 2013 that recorded seven shutouts. Clear Spring finished the season with an 8-6-1 record, and Robertson was rewarded by being named Second Team All-County, Second Team All-County Coaches, and Second Team All-MVAL. He netted two goals from his defensive position during his senior year. Robertson also participated in the Four Diamonds All-Star game and recorded an assist en route to a 3-0 victory over Pennsylvania All-Stars.

In 2012, Clear Spring would go 13-2-1 and capture their first ever Washington County Championship. Robertson was named to the Honorable Mention All-County, Honorable Mention All-County Coaches, and Honorable Mention All-MVAL teams.

Robertson has also been a member of Clear Spring Blast Club Team for the last seven years. While participating in the Baltimore Beltway League, he has competed in the Columbia, Bloomsburg, Mason Dixon, and Baltimore Mania Tournaments.

Robertson joins recently committed Clear Spring teammates Bradley Mills and Jacob Ernst, along with Washington County players, Hart Weaver and Collin McVicker. Quinn Jenkins recently committed from Frederick County, while Shad Gordon rounds out the 2014 class from Southern Fulton.

"After graduating three starting defenders, it was our goal to bring in players that can compete right away," mentioned head coach Brian Eichelberger. "Zach is tough defender that can contribute at either outside back position. Being familiar with (Bradley) Mills and (Jacob) Ernst will go along way in helping our team chemistry."
