Hawks Sign Brazilian Midfielder, Leonardo Rafeal Silva Dos Anjos
Hagerstown, Md. - Brazilian native, Leonardo Rafeal Silva Dos Anjos, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men’s soccer team.
Anjos, a center midfielder for Trinity Baptist College in 2015, ended the season with six goals and four assists. He helped the Eagles to a 16-0-4 overall record while capturing the NCCAA Division II National Championship. Trinity would defeat Moody Bible Institute 1-0 to claim the title. Anjos would earn All-Tournament Team honors during the 2015 season, while also taking home the Coaches Award.
Hailing from Recife, Anjos has played club for Clube nauico Capibaribe, Santa Cruz Futebol Clube, America Futebol Clube, and Formoso da Macaxeira. He was the top scorer at Futebol Participativo Recife in 2012, while also being named Best Midfielder and All-Tournament Team.
Anjos joins previously committed Washington County recruits, Ian Hose, Cole Mills, Grant Adams, Caden Keplinger and Andrew Owens. Asongwe McCho-Nji Jr. , Benny Brankoff and Jaime Quansah come from the Baltimore area, while the trio, joins West Virgina recruits Josh Fitzwater and Ricardo Merino. The Hawks have also received commitments from Montgomery County players, Azaria Honsou and Angel Osegueda, along with Frederick residents Fredy Barerra and Alex Kiss. Geneva College transfer, Tico Witer, rounds out the 2016 recruiting class.
