Hawks use strong second half to beat Cecil College

North East, Md.
- After taking a 2-0 lead into halftime, the Hagerstown Community College lit up the scoreboard four more times to beat MDJUCO Division I Opponent, Cecil College, 6-0.

The Hawks would tally six shots in the first 20 minutes, before finding the back of the net when freshman Kevin McGuire (Shady Grove, Md./Thomas Johnson) collected a corner kick rebound and buried the ball in the back of the net. Hagerstown would crack the scoreboard again in the 40th minute when sophomore Andrew Owens (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) picked out classmate Tico Witter (St. Thomas, Pa./Geneva) for his seventh goal of the season.

HCC would continue to dominate play in the second half, tallying four more goals. Freshman Jonathan Diaz (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) would receive a pass from McGuire and attack down the left side of the field. After a quick touch in the box he would slot the ball off the far post and into the net for his first collegiate goal.

Just four minutes later, sophomore Chad Chike (Salisbury, Md./Thomas Bennett) would volley home a rebound shot attempt by freshman DJ Mamo (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair). In the 77th minute, sophomore Asongwe McCho-Nji (Baltimore, Md./Lansdowne) played a ball into the path of freshman Ibrahim Doumbia (Harlem, Ny./Business of Sports School). Doumbia would bring the ball down and calmly tuck the ball around the Seahawk netminder.
