Hagerstown Records Sixth Shutout on Season with 6-0 Victory
Hagerstown, Md. - Freshmen Walter Saenz (Lanham, Md./Meade) and Jeison Caballero (Germantown, Md./Northwest) account for 11 of 18 points for the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team.
HCC would kickoff the afternoon with a goal eight minutes into the contest. Saenz would play a long ball to Caballero, who would tuck the ball into the far corner of the goal. Ten minutes later, Caballero would record the favor to Saenz. Caballero would beat a defender end line and then push the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper, where Saenz would tap the ball in from six yards out.
After only two minutes following the goal, Saenz spotted sophomore Andrew Owens (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) darting down the right side of the field. The ball would be played over the PSU defenders head and Owens would get on the end of it. He would attack the goal and calmly place the ball into the far corner of the goal.
HCC would round out the first half scoring when former high school teammates Santiago Alzate (Germantown, Md./Northwest) and Caballero teamed up for a beautiful goal. Alzate played a perfect long ball to Caballero and after just two touches, the ball was in the side netting.
Hagerstown would pound Mont Alto with 16 shots in the second half. Saenz would play a through ball to Owens in the 70th minute. After a deflection, Owens would be credited with his second goal on the afternoon. Then just one minute later, Caballero spotted classmate, Ibrahim Doumbia (Harlem, Ny./Business of Sports School). A well played ball in between the center backs fell to Doumbia. After a quick toe poke around the PSU goalkeeper, Doumbia would curl the ball into the far corner of the goal.
